Yeasayer

This whole “working six days a week” thing is getting a bit old, since I’m having no time to prowl around the interwebs looking for new bands that you haven’t heard of. I haven’t been to a live show in months (maybe not since 2007), and i don’t have any on the horizon, except for Sasquatch, of course.

whine, whine, whine ;-)

To make up for it, here’s a little gem that i’ve been sitting on for a few months. Yeasayer has been making the blog-rounds for a while as they sit near the top of a massive NYC music scene. They hit Conan O’Brien last month and were his favorite act in a long time (alas, it’s nearly impossible to find video of that performance online). Musically, they sound like they took Paul Simon’s seminal Graceland and put it on repeat for about 22 months.
(side note: with Vampire Weekend and even Panther doing the same thing, i think Paul Simon is the new black)

Here’s a great vid of their song “Wait For The Summer”
