MOG vs. last.fm

December 23, 2006

I’m in the middle of sifting through the 137 different albums that I have added to my collection this year, trying to nail down my Top Ten for this year (although, smart eyes will have caught the two 2006 releases that made my top 20 D.I.D.’s).   So, don’t worry, it will happen.  My initial list of hopefuls is 43, and I’ll spoil it a bit by saying that such notables as Keane, The Killers, Muse, Copeland, Pearl Jam, the Raconteurs, and the Yeah Yeah Yeahs didn’t even make that.

But for now, i’ll leave you with the fact that i did join the new MOG community, and you can find my new MOG page here.  So far, my initial impressions is that it’s shooting to be a combination of MySpace and last.fm, but I’m not as keen on it just yet.  I had some uploading issues, and their servers seem to be running behind quite often.

At this point, MOG and last.fm have competing settings to pull playlists off your iPod, so I’m going to stay with my last.fm page at least until MOG works their kinks out.

MacHeist - A Great Christmas Idea

December 12, 2006

Wondering what to get me?  I have a GREAT suggestion, courtesy of John at Some Strange Ideas

MacHeist is a great software bundle  that is selling at 80% off the total price - a  STEAL at only $49.  The bundle includes two programs I’ve been eyeing, Delicious Library (of course, I would need an iSight or other webcam to fully utilize it <wink>) and PhotoMagico, which alone retail  for $119.  Best of all, $10 of your purchase price goes to a charity of your choice!

The offer’s only good for a week, so go ahead and act now ;-)

PS: this is in all seriousness - let me know if my not-so-subtle hints are working.  my dubious software ethics not withstanding, i don’t know what i would do with more than one of these.

Websites of Note

October 31, 2006

(for those of you who asked, I remind you of :)
Brenda’s website, http://www.myartclub.com/brenda.moore .  It features pictures of some recent work, as well as pricing and purchasing information.  Tell all your friends; they make great gifts.

I Radio Heaven, http://www.iradioheaven.com .  My vanity site, since I operate under the delusion that people care about my opinions of music, television, movies, wine, beer, and anything else.  It’s not updated as frequently as it should be, but tell all your friends anyway.  The more readers, the more advertising revenue I’ll be inclined to post.
